This team is having a lot of trouble scoring. The 3,4, and 5 spot contributed a grand total of 2 singles yesterday.
A-Rod is due back possibly as early as Friday, and it is none too soon. To put up 3 runs and expect to win--that is not realistic.
Joba pitched ok, with 12 strikeouts in 5.2. But the 3 run HR to Jason Bay more than cancelled out what would have been a good game.
The Rays come in tonight, and the Yankees need to put a few runs on the board. AJ Burnett takes the hill to try to turn things around.
Go Yankees
This looks like the team did last year. Win four in a row, lose four in a row. Score 12 runs one game, score 12 runs over then next five games.
ReplyDeleteUnless they get reasonably steady production from their "stars", it's going to be a mediocre season.
With the division that the Yankees are in, I really believe they are not in the position of saying "it's a long season."
ReplyDeleteThey need to get started now, get hot, stay hot.
@ Chris: Exactly
ReplyDelete@ Tommy: Don't remind me.
:(
