Yankees off to great start

This may be the year they win 162.

Watched the Sox today on ESPN, as far as the announcers to quote Pee Wee Herman, "if you love them so much, why don't you marry them?"

They slobbered over the Sox as if they already won the AL East.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate the Sox?

I especially hate Youkilis.

Coughlin must go

10 wins and no layoffs.

He blew the Eagles game, and others (too angry to think.)

He gotta go.

Winter meetings update

As heard on YES

So far the BoSox uhave added a mayor star in Crawford. I alwys thouht he would be awesome in Yankee Stadium, but the Yanks would have to move someone. Might be too costly, also. The pursui of Cliff Lee continues. Last offer was in the range of 7 years and CC money. (160 mil or so?)

I'm not crazy about that deal. Guy is 34 or so. Outside of cheaters like Clemans, how many fireballing 40 year olds do you know?

I'd be more comfortable with 5 for 115, with an option for a 6th. He'd be 40 then.

Jeter Gone?

Rumor mill is in full swing. The New York Post photoshopped a picture of Jeter in a Red Sox uniform.

Hank Steinbrenner released a statement that the Yankees have made the free agents(Jeter, Mo, and Pettitte) very, very rich and should just sign for what the Yankees offer.

Damn, I've Been Gone a Long Time

Let's see....hmm the Yankees won #27

They lost this year.

Who won? I think it was the Giants. Didn't even catch an inning of the Series.

Okay, we're caught up.

Big news now is Jeter. Yankees offered 3 years 45 million, which would be a cut in salary. Jete said no. Rumor is he is asking 6 years.

Jeter is th Mickey Mantle of this generartion of fans and they won't allow him to walk. This is the wrong guy for the Yankees to go cheap on.

I'm finally home so expect me back with more hot stove reports, and some NY Giants.

I told you he was a punk; Kevin Youkilis

Did you see Kevin Youkilis charge the mound because he got hit? He threw his helmet at the pitcher, girlie style, and then got thrown to the ground.
This is a pitcher who two years ago was pitching high school ball. Not exactly a guy who has perfect control.

Youkilis is a punk. Jeter and A-Rod get hit in the double digits each year, and when was the last time they charged the mound? It's because they aren't punks like Youk.

Time for him to grow a set.

Yankee machine keeps on rolling

Tampa Bay was the latest team to get in the way of the steamroller that is the Bronx Bombers. The power was supplied by Damon, Cano, and Swisher (2) and Burnett pitched well to gain his 10th win. (1 run through 7 innings.)

The Yanks maintained their lead over the Sox .

Tonight's contest against the Rays is on local TV so I can catch part of it.

That 8 in a Row!!

The Yankees continue to roll! They now lead the AL in wins. The starting staff is doing its job, and the team is hitting.

A-Rod is on fire. Let's hit double digits on this streak!!!

Yanks in first

Due to extenuating circumstances, all my Yankee watching has been on ESPN and the local news. But while I have been slacking off, it's good to see my favorite team has been kicking butt.

Tonight's game is on TV, but rain is expected.

Sergio Mitre, who has not pitched in the bigs since 2007, gets the nod.

Yanks drop 2 of 3 to Fish

What is up with them now?

CC is injured, half the team isn't hitting.

Yanks Beat Marlins

The Fish were no match for the Bombers who actually got a few hits today and put up some runs. Pettitte pitched well, and we came away with a 5-1 win.

It doesn't make up for the pitiful showing against the Nats, but at least we put one on the win side of the ledger.

AJ will start tomorrow night as we try to make it 2 in a row, and CC gets the nod on Sunday.

Looking around the league, Matsuzaka got lit up again. Look for the Sahx to shut him down. And not let him ever pitch in the World Classic or whatever they called that nonsense before the season started.

Sunday afternoon Santana vs Burnett

Should be a classic old fashioned pitching duel.

Maybe it will be like when Koufax faced Marichal. Memories of Seaver and Perry came up.

How about Stottlemyre and Lolich?

Clemens vs Martinez?

Fire up the grill, chill a couple brews, we are in for a good one.

Again, as both teams fail to follow the script, here is is, 4th inning, and the Bombers are up 13-0. Now, I love hammering the stupid Mets almost as much as the Sox so no complaints here.

Just going to sit back and enjoy a laugher.

Yankees beat Mets in shocking fashion

Ok, it wasn't what the script said. Mo on the hill in a tied game in the 8th. Gives up a go ahead double. Yankees only have to score 2 against K-Rod to win. Script says Yankees lose.

Oh wait, send it to rewrite. Tex and A-Rod are due up. Game winning homerun. Yank fans fgo home happy.

Naw, too cliche.

How about, Jeter gets on, steals second. Tex walks.

A-Rod then reaches on an error, both runners score. Sounds like a Simpsons episode ending......but, that is what happened.

Go figure.

After the debacle in Beantown, we'll take a win any way we can get it. Even with a cheesy Hollywood ending.
