Yankees take second from Tigers

Yankees had one big inning, and it was enough to beat the Tigers last night 8-6 as Joba picked up his first win of the year. The game was only close as the Tigers picked up 5 runs in the bottom of the ninth. Swisher belted 2 dingers for the Bombers.

It makes me worry that while the Yanks have put up a few runs in the last 2 games, they were shut out in 15 of the last 18 innings. I enjoy a big inning as much as the next fan, but they need to score more consistently as those big innings can't be relied on every game.

Go Yankees

Take the runs, can't be picky. I'm more concerned with the bullpen. now even Mo is getting hit. And Abalydabaly is just getting battered. What's the latest on Aceves?

@ Chris: I haven't heard anything on him. I'm going to watch Francesa this afternoon, and get his take on it.

The bullpen got rocked and overworked with those early exits last week.

I'll always take the runs, in bunches or otherwise. But I'd still like to see some more consistent scoring.

I know this is probably blasphemy...but Rivera is one of the most ovverated players in MLB history. This guy has had some EPIC blown-saves in his career.

1997 - ALDS Game 4 (Indians)
2001 - Game 7 World Series (Diamondbacks)
2004 - ALCS Games 4 and 5 (Red Sox)

And he continues to get raped by Boston.

That freaking debacle last Friday...and then again last night.
